Rain, Rain, Go Away!
So much for enjoying a day out at the lake.
With the rain putting a kibosh on our plans for the day, Ben and I decided to get some more much needed work done on the camper. We sanded down the varnish and applied a second coat, he did some work on the galley in the back hatch, and we hung my fabulous green doors.
For some strange reason, putting the hardware back on the doors after painting them was far more difficult than it should have been. I swear, the holes moved. We also got our door lock on, which means we now have real official keys to the camper. (I will admit... I may have gotten a little frustrated with that part and totally threw a fit and had to take a break, a little nap, and calm down.)
My grandma gave us some old cushions from one of my grandparent's campers, and I'm going to reupholster them to make a headboard cushion in the teardrop. After spending a painfully long time in Joann Fabric I found the winner! ...only to find the bolt was about half a yard short of what I needed. So tomorrow, it is off to the Fabric Warehouse and then to see Ben's mom as I know slightly more than nothing about sewing. Good night!
